What a difference a day can make and today is absolutely gorgeous, quintessential Florida weather, just in time for the arrival of a "special visitor", my hubby! We're both a hour and a half away from landing at Orlando International Airport, so I've set my alarm for 5:30 am, set a pot of tea brewing, and set the GPS for MCO.

Our family has a tradition of sorts.  On the first day, after our arrival at a vacation spot, we check in, get settled, then mark the occasion with a toast. 












For the duration of his visit, accommodations will switch to a more "traditional" variety.  Hubby is 6'2" and previously at my encouragement, spent 2 nights together with Kitt and I.  Ah...let's just say, I couldn't get additional "buy in", so we land at a "cabin" in Jetty Park at Port Canaveral.

This actually works out quite well as the electrical panel that powers the cabin has an unused NEMA 14-50.  Remember that 30' extension cable that I hardly ever use but schlep around for those rare instances? This is one of them.  

The cabin does not supply linens of any sort but that's really not a problem as I improvise and use the "privacy screen" sheet for the fitted sheet, the twin fitted sheet for the flat sheet and top it off with two unnecessary blankets.  Home sweet home.

The beach is literally at our back door, so we initialize "My Tracks", (a phone app that records your path, speed, distance and elevation while you walk, run, bike, etc.) and set a goal of 5 miles round trip.
